Josephine Agyei, BSN, RN is a critical care nurse in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of New Rochelle in 2018. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Inducted as a Nurse Leader), New York Organization for Nursing Leadership, Greater New York City Black Nurses Association and American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.She is the recipient of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses certification scholarship in recognition of nurses’ dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. In October 2022, she was recognized as The Clinical Staff Nurse of the Year by The Greater New York City Black Nurses Association.Josephine aspires to be a transformational leader. She is passionate about nursing leadership, healthcare advocacy, and improving healthcare access in underserved communities. She serves as an Ambassador on the United Vessels of Love (U-VOL) Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to meet the unmet healthcare and wellness needs of vulnerable populations. Her greatest goal is to effectively bring awareness to the health needs of people living in underserved communities around the globe.
