Irene Fankah is a Certified Registered Paediatric Nurse in Ghana. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Vrije University (Royal Tropical Institute) from the Netherlands focusing on Health Sytems Policy and Management.
Irene Fankah is a Certified Registered Paediatric Nurse in Ghana. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Vrije University (Royal Tropical Institute) from the Netherlands focusing on Health Sytems Policy and Management. Prior to that, she obtained two bachelor’s degrees, Nursing and Public Administration, from University of Ghana and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration respectively.
Ms Fankah started her nursing career at Tema General Hospital. She has over 12 years of clinical experience cumulatively in general and paediatric nursing. During this period, she built a solid foundation and skill set in leadership and nursing practice. Her contributions to the nursing profession was recognized through several professional awards and acknowledgements.
She is a registered member of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association and Fellow in the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives where she currently work as faculty.
The impact of her work as a leader, specialist nurse and outstanding educator is evident in her selected presentations. Her masters thesis ‘Addressing Factors Influencing Neonatal Mortality in Ghana’ has been presented in both local and international conferences.
