Dr. Nana Yaa S. Addai, DNP, AGNP-C, CDIP is a board-certified Adult-Gerontological
Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in healthcare delivery. She
earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro in May 2020, where her doctoral research focused on the treatment of
chronic pain in older adults using non-opioid therapies. During her time at UNCG, she
also served as a Research and Teaching Assistant.
Dr. Addai began her nursing journey after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing
from Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, in 2013, where she also served as a Teaching
Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology. Her clinical experience spans diverse roles,
including Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner and Medical-Surgical Nurse at UNC
Health in Chapel Hill, as well as RN positions in the Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at
Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and the ICU Step-Down Unit at Cone
Health in Greensboro, North Carolina.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American
College of Lifestyle Medicine, Obesity Medicine Association, Sigma Theta Tau
International Honor Society of Nursing, Gerontological Advanced Practice Nursing
Association, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Currently, Dr. Addai provides primary care services to adults and geriatric patients, with
a strong focus on lifestyle and behavioral interventions to prevent and manage chronic
diseases. She also serves as a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner
(CDIP). Beyond clinical practice, she is deeply committed to service, volunteering
annually to provide free health screenings and health education through churches and
community organizations.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Addai enjoys spending time with family and
friends, cooking, sewing, gardening, and traveling.
