Akwasi Duah

Biography

Dr. Akwasi Duah is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Director of the Graduate Entry Pathway Program at the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing, UMass Chan Medical School.


Originally from Ghana, Dr. Duah began his professional journey in the Ghana Police Service before transitioning to nursing.

He holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Quinnipiac University and completed his PhD in Nursing at UMass Chan in 2017.


Dr. Duah brings a rich blend of clinical and academic experience to his current role. He previously served as a registered nurse at McLean Hospital and held a faculty position at Fitchburg State University. Today, he leads the Graduate Entry Pathway Program, which offers individuals with non-nursing bachelor's degrees a transformative route to nursing licensure and advanced practice, empowering career-changers to enter the healthcare field with purpose and preparation.

He is also a co-director of education and educational policy at G-DNA
