Emmanuel
Acheampong is a highly skilled and accomplished Registered Emergency Nurse.
With
a strong foundation in clinical practice, academic research, and strategic
leadership, he serves at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he is
dedicated to advancing emergency and critical care nursing in Ghana.
Emmanuel
holds several influential leadership roles, including:
• Nurse Lead, African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM)
• National Coordinator, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Ghana
• General Secretary, Emergency Medicine Society of Ghana (EMSOG)
• Course Director, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Ghana
• Master Trainer, WHO Basic Emergency Course
• Secretary, Ghanaian Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA) Middle Zone
He
is also a founding member of the World Health Organization’s Acute Care Action
Network (ACAN), contributing to a global coalition aimed at enhancing
emergency, critical, and operative care systems worldwide.
During
the COVID-19 pandemic, Emmanuel served as a consultant for WHO-AFRO, supporting
emergency preparedness and response strategies across Africa. His contributions
to Ghana’s COVID-19 response were nationally recognized, earning him
acknowledgment from the President of the Republic of Ghana for his pivotal role
in the fight against the pandemic.
In
addition, He serves as a peer reviewer for several reputable research journals,
contributing to the advancement of global health scholarship and evidence-based
practice.
Emmanuel
is widely respected for his leadership, innovation, and mentorship across
clinical and academic settings. His work continues to shape emergency nursing
and critical care delivery, with a vision for resilient, equitable, and
high-performing healthcare systems across Ghana and the continent.
